Every item of certified diamond jewellery purchased from Sonny's Jewellers is protected by our comprehensive Lifetime Diamond Guarantee.
This guarantee ensures your jewellery remains secure, professionally maintained and accurately valued for as long as you own it.
This guarantee is provided free of charge with all eligible certified diamond jewellery purchased directly from Sonny's Jewellers.
1. Eligibility
The Lifetime Diamond Guarantee applies to:
- Certified diamond jewellery priced at £1,500 or above (per individual item)
- Diamonds certified by GIA or IGI with a matching laser inscription
- Items purchased directly from Sonny's Jewellers
Exclusions
- Diamond jewellery below £1,500
- Illusion-set or cluster diamond pieces
- Non-certified diamonds
- Diamonds without a verifiable laser inscription
- Items not listed on the original purchase receipt
2. Lifetime Setting Guarantee
We guarantee the structural integrity of your jewellery's setting for the duration of your ownership.
What's Included
- Inspection of claws/prongs
- Tightening of stones where required
- Structural assessment of the mount and band
- Repairs relating to manufacturing or workmanship faults
All work is carried out by Sonny's Jewellers.
Customer Responsibilities (Important)
To maintain this guarantee:
- You must book and attend an inspection every 6 months
- It is the customer's responsibility to schedule all guarantee-related appointments
- All repairs and maintenance must be carried out by Sonny's Jewellers only
Failure to attend inspections or using another jeweller will void the setting guarantee.
Timeframes
Inspection and repair timeframes will be discussed individually in-store on a case-by-case basis, depending on the work required.
What's Not Covered
- Accidental damage or impact
- Loss or theft
- Chemical damage
- General wear and tear to metal
- Third-party repairs
- Side stones unless specified on the original receipt
3. Lifetime Cleaning & Polishing
We offer complimentary professional cleaning for life on all eligible items.
Includes
- Ultrasonic and steam cleaning
- Light polishing
- Visual setting check
More advanced refinishing (e.g. rhodium plating) may incur a charge.
Customer Responsibility
Cleaning appointments must be requested and scheduled by the customer.
Timeframes
Cleaning is often completed same-day; however, timeframes will be confirmed in-store depending on demand and condition.
4. Valuation Updates (Customer-Requested)
You may request a valuation at any time, however we recommend updating valuations every 3–5 years, particularly for insurance purposes.

Valuations must be requested and scheduled by the customer.
Timeframes
Most valuations are completed within 48 hours; however, final timeframes are confirmed in-store on a case-by-case basis.
Additional or specialist reports may incur a charge.
5. Lifetime Diamond Trade-In Programme (Natural Diamonds Only)
We offer a Lifetime Trade-In Programme for eligible natural certified diamonds only, allowing you to upgrade to a higher-value natural diamond in the future.
Important
- Laboratory-grown diamonds are not eligible for trade-in or upgrade
- Trade-in applies strictly natural → natural
Eligibility Rules
Certification Requirements
- Diamond must be certified by GIA or IGI
- Diamond must have a matching laser inscription
- Original certificate must be presented
Minimum Value Requirement
- The new diamond must be priced at least double the value of the original order
Trade-in value is based on the total original purchase price (diamond + setting) as shown on your receipt.
Condition Requirements
The diamond must be:
- Free from chips, cracks or structural damage
- Undamaged by heat or chemicals
- In acceptable wearable condition
Proof of Purchase
To qualify, you must present:
- Original receipt (or digital proof of purchase)
- Diamond grading certificate
The guarantee applies only to items listed on the original receipt.
Trade-In Process
- Book an appointment (customer responsibility)
- Bring jewellery, receipt, and certificate
- Eligibility and condition are assessed
- Select a new natural diamond (minimum double value)
- Original purchase value is applied as credit
- New piece is completed and prepared
Timeframes
All trade-in and upgrade timeframes are discussed individually in-store and handled case by case.
6. Exclusions & Limitations
This guarantee does not cover:
- Lost or stolen items
- Accidental or impact damage
- Chemical damage or misuse
- Third-party repairs
- Normal wear and tear
- Side stones (unless specified)
- Missed inspections
- Items without proof of purchase
- Ineligible items (including cluster or illusion-set jewellery)
This guarantee is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
7. Customer Responsibilities
To maintain your Lifetime Diamond Guarantee, you must:
- Book and attend 6-monthly inspections
- Schedule all cleaning, valuation and trade-in appointments
- Present your Guarantee Card and proof of purchase
- Ensure all work is carried out by Sonny's Jewellers only
Failure to meet these responsibilities may void parts of the guarantee.
8. Sonny's Jewellers Terms
Sonny's Jewellers reserves the right to amend, update or change these Terms & Conditions at any time.
Any changes will apply to future purchases. Existing customers will retain the terms applicable at the time of their original purchase unless otherwise stated.
